In addition to reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to the IMF arrangement, Dr. Forson announced the forthcoming launch of a Public Financial Management (PFM) Commitment Control Compliance League Table.
This new initiative will publicly rank Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) based on their compliance with fiscal discipline and expenditure controls as mandated by the PFM Act.
“We have operationalised the Compliance Desk at the Ministry of Finance to closely monitor MDA adherence to their fiscal commitments. Soon, the PFM Commitment Control Compliance League Table will be published to show the level of compliance and non-compliance,”
— Dr. Forson
The Compliance League Table aims to strengthen financial accountability across public institutions, improve fiscal discipline, and ensure transparency in the use of state resources.
Commitment to Economic Recovery
As Ghana continues to work towards economic recovery, the Finance Minister’s message underlines the government’s confidence in the IMF programme as a crucial tool to stabilize inflation, restore investor confidence, and promote sustainable growth.
The announcement also signals the administration’s determination to enforce stronger financial governance at all levels of public service.
