President John Dramani Mahama says his government has successfully fulfilled every promise it made for its first 120 days in office, setting a solid groundwork for what he calls “resetting Ghana” and creating a nation built on unity and progress.

In a televised national address on Wednesday, May 7, the President highlighted the milestones achieved since he assumed office, pointing to a leadership style focused on transparency, accountability, efficiency, and urgency.

“We gave the people of Ghana a clear set of promises for this crucial first phase. Today, I’m pleased to report that every one of those promises has been kept,” President Mahama announced.

He listed key achievements, including forming a smaller, more efficient government, enacting a strong code of conduct, eliminating burdensome taxes, investigating past corruption cases, rolling out job creation initiatives, tackling illegal mining, restoring the environment, boosting tourism and exports, reforming scholarship systems, supporting vulnerable communities, and enforcing accountability in security agencies.

“These aren’t just items on a checklist; they represent a deep shift in the way government works—with urgency, transparency, accountability, and dedication to the welfare of every Ghanaian,” he said.

Despite expressing satisfaction with progress so far, President Mahama acknowledged that the path ahead requires continuous effort and collaboration.

“My promises are not mere words—I stand by them. We’ve laid a strong foundation in these 120 days, but much more lies ahead if we are to achieve the Ghana we dream of,” he emphasized.

He encouraged Ghanaians from all walks of life to join in building a better future, regardless of region, political affiliation, or occupation.

“I call on every Ghanaian—across every town, city, village, and sector—to stand together with one purpose. Let’s unite to overcome our challenges and create a stronger, more prosperous nation,” President Mahama urged.

“Thank you for welcoming me into your homes tonight. May God bless you, and may God bless Ghana,” he concluded.
