Comedian Funny Face Remanded After Kasoa Accident

Comedian and actor Funny Face, whose real name is Benson Nana Yaw Oduro, has been remanded into police custody by the Ofaakor Circuit Court in the Awutu Senya East District of the Central Region following a motor accident in Kakraba, Kasoa.

The incident occurred on Sunday, March 24, when Funny Face allegedly hit four people—a mother with two children and a motor rider—with his car. He was arrested on the same evening and appeared before the court on Tuesday, March 26, facing charges of drunk driving and careless driving.

As a result of the accident, one victim remains in a coma, while the other three are undergoing treatment at the Winneba Trauma Centre. Isaac Asare, the brother of one of the victims, explained in an interview with Adom News that initially, his brother was transferred to Ridge Hospital but was unable to be admitted due to bed shortages. Subsequently, he was redirected to the Police Hospital, where admission was also unavailable.

Facing these challenges, Mr. Asare expressed hope for divine intervention to facilitate his brother’s transfer to a larger medical facility.

Funny Face is expected to spend two weeks in police custody awaiting his next court appearance. The incident has underscored the importance of road safety and the need for responsible driving practices to prevent such accidents in the future.
