Ghanaian music producer Sammy Soso emerges as the creative force behind South African artist Tyla’s Grammy-winning hit, “Water.” The song, celebrated widely across music platforms, secured the award for Best African Music Performance at the 66th Grammy Awards, marking a significant milestone for both Tyla and the Ghanaian producer.

Renowned British Ghanaian producer Juls revealed Sammy Soso’s crucial involvement in the composition, recording sessions, and inspiration for “Water.” Juls shared this insight via a tweet on February 4, 2024, shedding light on Sammy Soso’s contribution to Tyla’s success.

Sammy Soso, a Grammy-nominated producer, songwriter, engineer, and DJ, embarked on his journey in music during his teenage years, initially as part of a multimedia enterprise. He honed his skills in renowned clubs, from ‘Rep Your Country’ to Julie Adenuga’s ‘Don’t @ Me.’

In 2016, Sammy Soso made his mark with the UK Top 15 single “Transforming” by KSI, kickstarting a series of successful collaborations with artists such as JME and Wizkid. His work on hits like “Pull UP,” “Sweet One,” and “Grace” from Wizkid’s album “Made in Lagos” showcased his versatility and talent.

Sammy Soso’s influence extends to Wizkid’s latest album, “More Love, Less Ego,” featuring standout tracks like “Bad To Me,” “Everyday,” and collaborations with artists like Omah Lay, Young T & Bugsey, and Blxst.

His role in shaping Tyla’s Grammy-winning track underscores his prowess in the music industry and highlights Ghana’s contribution to the global music landscape.
