After extending its winning streak to three games with a win over Western Kentucky last week, UTSA now heads to Miami for a matchup against Florida International on Friday night. The Roadrunners are off to a strong start in Conference USA play with two straight wins to begin their C-USA slate, improving their overall record to 4-2 on the season. Florida International, on the other hand, dropped to 2-3 on the season as it searches for its first conference victory of the 2022 campaign. UTSA had 486 yards of offense, including a season-high 213 rushing yards, in a 31-28 victory over Western Kentucky at the Alamodome last week. Quarterback Frank Harris passed for 273 yards and a touchdown while adding another 61 rushing yards and a score to lead the way for the Roadrunners.
As for FIU, the Panthers' offense committed three turnovers in a 33-12 defeat against UConn last Saturday night. Junior running back Lexington Joseph led the Panthers with a season-high 103 rushing yards, while quarterback Grayson James threw for another 256 yards.
