Irene S. May of Dunkirk NY, died Oct. 12, at Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab following a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 16, 1926, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Kalfas) Majka.
A homemaker and former employee of VanRaalte.
She was a member of Blessed Mary Angela.
Irene was an avid Bingo player, animal lover and fan of the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include son, Frank May III of Dunkirk, and her dear niece, Cassandra Adams, as well as others.
Preceded in death by her husband Frank May Jr. on Feb. 16, 1946 until he passed away Nov. 21, 1989, son Lawrence and his wife Linda (nee Jakubowski) as well as her sister Lillian Pazderski and baby sister Helen Majka.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Lakeshore Humane Society or any animal rescue group.
Relatives and friends may call this morning at the R. Mackowiak Funeral home Inc, From 9 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Blessed Mary Angela Church of St. Hedwig at 10 AM. Interment will be in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.
