The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Joseph Abuabu Dadzie as its new Chief Executive, effective April 26, 2024. Mr. Dadzie takes over from Mr. Opoku-Ahweeneh Danquah, whose term ended on the same date.
Mr. Dadzie, until his appointment, served as GNPC’s Deputy Chief Executive responsible for Commerce, Strategy & Business Development. He brings over 25 years of experience in finance, corporate management, governance, strategic planning, and leadership across various industries, including energy, oil and gas, telecommunications, and banking.
Prior to joining GNPC, Mr. Dadzie held executive positions at Surfline Communications Limited and Woodfields Energy Resources. He also worked with Standard Chartered Bank in various roles.
Mr. Dadzie holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) and a Master of Science degree in General Management from Nyenrode Business Universiteit, Netherlands. He also holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology.
The statement from GNPC mentioned that arrangements are being made for Mr. Dadzie to meet with all stakeholders in the coming months.
