Ghanaian international reggae singer and pioneer Black Prophet has debunked Gyedu Blay Ambuley’s saying that reggae dancehall should be scrapped from the music industry since it is not of Ghanaian origin.
He made this comment during an interview with Dr Can on the Showbiz Extra show on Happy 98.9 fm explaining that although the origin of reggae and dancehall music is Jamaica, the makers of reggae music themselves originated from Africa with some of them taken from Ghana.
Therefore promoting reggae and dancehall music is promoting Ghanaian music .
When asked why he does not make his presence known anytime he is in Ghana ,the Mama Africa hit maker said that he grants a lot of interviews whenever he is around but blamed the Ghanaian media for not going after his songs and other Ghanaian songs as they do for foreign songs .
According to him his songs are everywhere on digital platforms and so anyone who wants his music can easily find them.
Gyedu Blay Ambuley who is himself a legend in hilife music and a key industry player is known to be one of the originators of Ghanaian rap genre.
