One more road game stands between the Memphis Grizzlies and a lengthy homestand. The Grizzlies will take on the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena.
For the third consecutive game, Memphis would avoid an all-star caliber player on an opponent. Cade Cunningham has been out with a left shin injury. Rookie Pistons guard Jaden Ivey returned in Detroit’s last game after missing the previous three contests.
The Grizzlies (13-9) are also without their own all-star caliber player. Desmond Bane remains out, plus Ziaire Williams and Danny Green are unable to play. Rookie forward Jake LaRavia is listed as doubtful, and Steven Adams is questionable due to right hip soreness.
The decision on Adams will be important. Detroit (6-17) likes to use a traditional two big man frontcourt with Marvin Bagley and Isaiah Stewart. That pairing helped the Pistons outrebound the Dallas Mavericks 52-30 in their last game on Thursday.
Memphis still has a sizeable advantage in rebounding. The Grizzlies are first in the NBA, and Detroit ranks 23rd.
The Grizzlies swept last season’s meetings against the Pistons and have won five of the last six in the series.
