So, here we are then. It's not quite the midway point of Nottingham Forest's first Premier League campaign in over two decades, but it's close enough.
The enforced break due to the first ever winter Fifa Men's World Cup means that the top flight hits the pause button after 15 games (14 for some clubs). It doesn't return for another six weeks, when the Reds travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on December 27. Some welcome back, that.
That leaves a lot of time for reflection on the first part of the campaign, not just on what's gone right but what's gone wrong, too. And there is plenty to pore over.

For any club in trouble this would be the ideal time to sack the manager and get a new one in so they have lots of time to work with the squad. Luckily for Steve Cooper, he signed a contract extension last month just as things were starting to look bad for him and the team.
Recent results, which included a shock win over Liverpool at the City Ground, have flipped the mood in recent weeks. Just one defeat in the last five games has lifted them off the bottom of the Premier League table and feeling hopeful again.
Forest have conceded the most goals (30), scored the second fewest (11), and won the second fewest number of games (3). But they haven't been cut adrift in the fight for survival and are very much still competitive in it, which is the least any fan could have asked for at the beginning of the season.
The question marks around the summer spending bonanza have dissipated somewhat with Cooper getting better performances out of his new players after working with them these past few months. But expectations are no less tempered after spending almost £150million on new recruits.
Four months into the season, is this what you expected or imagined from Forest's return to the Premier League? Is it better or worse than you thought it would be? Have you been impressed by the club's many transfer signings? What reinforcements does the team need in the January window?
NottinghamshireLive wants you, dear reader, to give us your opinion on these matters and more in our new survey, The Big Forest Forum. Fill out the form below or click this link if it's not loading.
