The Minister for the Interior, acting on advice from the Northern Regional Security Council, has extended the curfew hours for Kpatinga and its surroundings. The curfew will now be enforced from 12:00 midnight to 4:00am starting Friday, June 21, 2024.
The government acknowledges the cooperation of local Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and residents in managing challenges peacefully. It urges them to continue using non-violent methods to maintain peace in the area.
Additionally, there is a strict prohibition on carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons in Kpatinga and neighboring areas. Any individual found in possession of such items will face arrest and prosecution.
