The Mustangs (2-3, 0-1), who placed sixth in the conference at 4-4 and were 8-4 overall a year ago, are hoping to win at least eight games this season for the third time in four years. The Midshipmen (2-3, 2-1) can equal their conference win total from last season when they finished 3-5 in the AAC and 4-8 overall. Navy is 3-4 on the road since the start of 2021, while SMU is 6-2 at home during that same stretch.<br>Kickoff from Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Navy's defense is allowing 348.6 total yards per game this season, while SMU is giving up 416.8. He has thrown for 1,680 yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions on 125 of 211 passing (59.2%). The Mustangs are fourth in the country in passing offense (355 yards per game) and ninth in total offense (500.2 yards). Mordecai is ranked fourth nationally with 336 passing yards per game, 13th in completions per game with 25 and seventh in total offense (338.4).<br>Mordecai's favorite target is <a class="Annotation-link" href="/college-football/players/3124978/rashee-rice/">Rashee Rice</a>, who has 46 receptions for 687 yards (14.9 average) and four touchdowns. The senior wide receiver is second nationally in receiving yards per game (137.4), and catches per game (9.2). Rice also has the 20th-most all-purpose yardage with 137.4. Against Central Florida on Oct. 5, he had a solid performance with 12 receptions for 122 yards.<br>The Midshipmen have a powerful rushing attack and have six players who have at least 117 rushing yards or more on the season. Leading the charge is sophomore fullback <a class="Annotation-link" href="/college-football/players/26713505/daba-fofana/">Daba Fofana</a>, who has rushed 67 times for 275 yards (4.1 average) and three touchdowns. Sophomore wide receiver <a class="Annotation-link" href="/college-football/players/26725879/maquel-haywood/">Maquel Haywood</a> has carried 41 times for 203 yards (5.0 average), including a long of 17 yards. Junior quarterback <a class="Annotation-link" href="/college-football/players/3167731/tai-lavatai/">Tai Lavatai</a> leads the team with 69 rushing attempts for 147 yards (2.1 average) and three scores. He has also passed for two other TDs.<br>Defensively, Navy is led by senior linebacker <a class="Annotation-link" href="/college-football/players/3126068/john-marshall/">John Marshall</a>. <a class="Annotation-link" href="https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/teams/MRSHL/marshall-thundering-herd/">Marshall</a> tops the team with 39 tackles, including 16 solo, with two sacks for 13 yards. He also has one pass breakup and one forced fumble. In the loss to <a class="Annotation-link" href="https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/teams/MEMP/memphis-tigers/">Memphis</a>, he racked up 15 tackles, including six solo.
