At 21, the left-back has become a household name following his impressive performances in the league for Olympics last season which attracted interest from European clubs.
Quaye is best remembered for his instrumental role in Accra Great Olympics during the 2020–21 Ghana Premier League Season when he provided an assist for his brother, Maxwell Quaye, to score a goal against Accra Hearts of Oak, to earn Olympics a 2–0 win.
Following his impressive league campaign, there was massive interest from European clubs and it was expected that he would switch from Olympics to Europe but his trials with Switzerland side, FC Basel, were unsuccessful having failed to secure a deal.
Nonetheless, that did not deter Quaye as he continued to work hard and deliver a top-notch performance each week in the league last season which earned him a place in the Black Satellites team.
His contribution to the national Under-20 side was invaluable in helping the team win the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations last year when they beat Uganda 2-0 in the final of the competition in Mauritania.
At the Black Satellites, Quaye who was 19 years at the time, played all six games under Coach Karim Zito to win the title that qualified them to play in the 2021 Under-20 FIFA World Cup but the competition had to be cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
His performance at the Under-20 African Cup of Nations tournament caught the attention of the handlers of the Black Galaxies who subsequently invited him to be part of the local-based national team where he had to compete for that slot with other experienced players.
A graduate of the Attram De Visser Academy, Quaye has become an inspiration to many of his peers who are looking up to him for an opportunity to play in the top flight league in the country.
So far, the young left-back has made 47 Premier League appearances for Olympics and scored seven goals as a left-back making him one of the youngest left-backs to feature for the Accra-based club.
This season, he is expected to continue his exploits as he knocks on the doors of the Black Stars for an opportunity to be part of the squad to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
