With the countdown to the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) underway, the push for votes among nominated artistes has reached fever pitch.
In recent weeks, musicians and their teams have ramped up efforts both online and offline to win over fans and secure votes for the highly anticipated awards night. While some have enlisted the help of PR professionals to manage their campaigns, others have taken a more personal approach, appealing directly to fans on social media and other platforms.
One of the frontrunners in this year’s awards, Afrobeat star KiDi, has been particularly vocal in urging supporters to vote. During one of his social media campaigns, the “Touch It” hitmaker boldly declared that his song Lomo Lomo deserves to sweep every category it’s nominated in.
“No song should beat Lomo Lomo in ANY category! But I need you to vote, my loves,” KiDi posted, rallying his followers.
Featuring Black Sherif, Lomo Lomo has earned nominations in multiple categories including Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste(s), Best Afrobeats Song, Collaboration of the Year, and the coveted Telecel Most Popular Song of the Year.
The 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards is scheduled to take place on May 10, 2025, at the Grand Arena, promising a night of glitz, performances, and big wins.
