Ahead of the premiere of her debut film, “Water & Garri,” on May 10, Tiwa Savage appeared on NewsLive Prime on ABC News, where she discussed the film with Maggie Rulls. She talked about creating the film’s soundtrack, her passion for acting, the creative process behind the film, and her character Aisha, a fashion designer.
Produced by Tiwa Savage, “Water & Garri” follows Aisha (played by Tiwa), an ambitious fashion designer who returns to her native home after a decade in the U.S. following a family tragedy. The film explores her challenges in reconnecting with family, old friends, and a past love, amidst escalating violence and tensions in her homeland. Alongside Tiwa, the film stars Mike Afolarin, Andrew Bunting, and Jemima Osunde.
