The Panthers (2-3, 0-1 in C-USA), who are coming off a loss to <a class="Annotation-link" href="https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/teams/UCONN/connecticut-huskies/">UConn</a>, have not won a conference game since beating <a class="Annotation-link" href="https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/teams/ODU/old-dominion-monarchs/">Old Dominion</a> in November 2019. Since then they have lost 14 straight C-USA games by an average margin of 26.6 points. Meanwhile the Roadrunners (4-2, 2-0), who knocked off Western Kentucky last week, have won 12 of their last 13 conference games. They share the lead in C-USA with <a class="Annotation-link" href="https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/teams/NTEXAS/north-texas-mean-green/">North Texas</a>. <br>Kickoff is 8 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network. Led by dual-threat quarterback Frank Harris, the Roadrunners lead the conference and rank 11th in the nation in total offense (498.3 yards per game). They also rank second in C-USA in passing offense (350.3) and scoring offense (37.3 points per game).<br>By contrast FIU has one of the worst offenses in the FBS. The Panthers rank 125th (out of 131 teams) in the nation in scoring offense (16.6 points a game) and 115th in total offense (325.6 yards a game). Last week they managed just 12 points against UConn defense that entered the game allowing 32.7 points a game.<br>FIU has a tackling machine in Demetrius Hill. A 6-foot-2, 190-pound redshirt freshman from Miami, Hill leads the conference and ranks 11th in the country in tackles per game (5.6). He has twice this season made double-digit tackles in a game.<br>In addition, the Panthers face a UTSA offensive that is hampered by injuries. Right tackle <a class="Annotation-link" href="/college-football/players/3167554/makai-hart/">Makai Hart</a> is out for the rest of the season after being injured last week against <a class="Annotation-link" href="https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/teams/WKY/western-kentucky-hilltoppers/">Western Kentucky</a> and will be replaced by a walk-on. Also left tackle <a class="Annotation-link" href="/college-football/players/28878070/venly-tatafu/">Venly Tatafu</a>, a converted guard who already is filling in for an injured starter, and left guard <a class="Annotation-link" href="/college-football/players/2967453/terrell-haynes/">Terrell Haynes</a> are both dealing with injuries.<br>SportsLine's model is leaning Over the total, projecting the teams to combine for 64 points.
