Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Spreads Christmas Joy at Weija Leprosarium with Surprise Visit and Generous Donation

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia brought festive joy to the Weija Leprosarium with an unexpected visit and Christmas lunch, showcasing a heartwarming display of compassion. As a longstanding supporter of the Ghana Lepers Aid, Dr. Bawumia surprised the cured lepers with his personal presence, emphasizing his commitment to the facility.

Known for making special occasions memorable for the residents, Dr. Bawumia, a familiar face at the Leprosarium, spent time serving a festive meal alongside his team. This act not only brought smiles and laughter to the table but also underlined his ongoing dedication to supporting the facility.

Father Andrew Campbell, the Director of the Weija Leprosarium, expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the community for Dr. Bawumia’s consistent support. He highlighted the Vice President’s commitment not only to their specific facility but also to lepers across the nation.

Residents warmly welcomed Dr. Bawumia, expressing their appreciation for the visit with open arms and joyous faces. Beyond the enjoyment of the Christmas meal, Dr. Bawumia’s message resonated deeply, calling for inclusivity and acceptance towards those affected by leprosy.

Addressing the public, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that cured leprosy is not contagious and urged fellow Ghanaians to treat individuals who have experienced leprosy with fairness and love. In a further demonstration of support, he presented a generous donation of 100 bags of rice and 100 cartons of assorted drinks to aid the Leprosarium’s efforts.
