FIFA have announced the list of referees who will officiate at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
There will be 36 referees, 69 assistants and 24 video match officials heading over the tournament.
The process began three years ago, when up to 50 refereeing trios were analyzed as possible candidates.

As Spanish newspaper La Razon points out, some ISIS followers are using Telegram to let it be known that they want to attack the countries that belong to the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS at the World Cup.
Some of these messages are cryptic like: “Cleansing campaigns are ongoing. Be part of the World Cup in Qatar and score your goals. The goal is open.”
To avoid problems during the next week of training, the England national team took a drastic measure when it comes to its players and their respective partners.To avoid a COVID-19 outbreak that could deplete the squad, Southgate and his staff have decided that players will be kept away from their partners during the World Cup.

Over the last few months, Cristiano Ronaldo has come in for plenty of criticism, and will be aiming to use the 2022 Qatar World Cup as a chance to sway public opinion back in his favour and possibly convince other clubs to sign him.
Portugal star Bruno Fernandes has criticised the World Cup being in Qatar, highlighting the timing of the tournament, as well as the country’s human rights record.
“It’s not exactly the time we want to be playing in the World Cup,” he said.
“I think for everyone, players and fans, it’s not the best time. Kids will be at school, people will be working and the timings will not be the best for people to watch the games.
“We know the surroundings of the World Cup, what has been in the past few weeks, past few months, about the people that have died on the construction of the stadiums.
“We are not happy about that at all.”
Ghana are the latest team to officially announce their squad, which is as follows.
Goalkeepers: Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen and Ibrahim Danlad.
Defenders: Baba Rahman, Daniel Amartey, Alexander Djiku, Joseph Aidoo, Gideon Mensah, Denis Odoi, Alidu Seidu, Mohammed Salisu y Tariq Lamptey.
Midfielders: André Ayew, Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, Elisha Owusu, Daniel Afriyie and Salis Abdul Samed.
Forwards: Jordan Ayew; Kamaldeen Sulemana, Adbul Fatawu Issahaku, Osman Bukari, Iñaki Williams; Antoine Semenyo and Kamal Sowah.

According to L’Equipe, Marcus Thuram is a late call-up to the France squad, as he’ll be the 26th player selected by Didier Deschamps. Even though the squad was announced last week, this Monday was the final deadline.
