That’s all for today’s World Cup news. Be sure and join us tomorrow for all the latest ahead of Qatar 2022.
FIFA have announced the list of referees who will officiate at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
There will be 36 referees, 69 assistants and 24 video match officials heading over the tournament.
The process began three years ago, when up to 50 refereeing trios were analyzed as possible candidates.
But how are referees chosen? Find out
As Spanish newspaper La Razon points out, some ISIS followers are using Telegram to let it be known that they want to attack the countries that belong to the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS at the World Cup.
Some of these messages are cryptic like: “Cleansing campaigns are ongoing. Be part of the World Cup in Qatar and score your goals. The goal is open.”

To avoid problems during the next week of training, the England national team took a drastic measure when it comes to its players and their respective partners. To avoid a COVID-19 outbreak that could deplete the squad, Southgate and his staff have decided that players will be kept away from their partners during the World Cup.

Goalkeepers: Guillermo Ochoa, Alfredo Talavera and Rodolfo Cota.
Defenders: César Montes, Néstor Araujo, Héctor Moreno, Johan Vásquez, Gerardo Arteaga, Jesús Gallardo, Jorge Sánchez and Kevin Álvarez.
Midfielders: Edson Álvarez, Roberto Alvarado, Uriel Antuna, Héctor Herrera, Andrés Guardado, Carlos Rodríguez, Luis Gerardo Chávez, Luis Romo, Erick Gutiérrez and Orbelín Pineda.
Forwards: Rogelio Funes Mori, Raúl Jiménez, Chucky Lozano, Henry Martín and Alexis Vega.

Over the last few months, Cristiano Ronaldo has come in for plenty of criticism, and will be aiming to use the 2022 Qatar World Cup as a chance to sway public opinion back in his favour and possibly convince other clubs to sign him.

Portugal star Bruno Fernandes has criticised the World Cup being in Qatar, highlighting the timing of the tournament, as well as the country’s human rights record.
“It’s not exactly the time we want to be playing in the World Cup,” he said.
“I think for everyone, players and fans, it’s not the best time. Kids will be at school, people will be working and the timings will not be the best for people to watch the games.
“We know the surroundings of the World Cup, what has been in the past few weeks, past few months, about the people that have died on the construction of the stadiums.
“We are not happy about that at all.”
Ghana are the latest team to officially announce their squad, which is as follows.
Goalkeepers: Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen and Ibrahim Danlad.
Defenders: Baba Rahman, Daniel Amartey, Alexander Djiku, Joseph Aidoo, Gideon Mensah, Denis Odoi, Alidu Seidu, Mohammed Salisu y Tariq Lamptey.

After not being selected by Luis Enrique, Sergio Ramos has broken his silence to state his support for his former teammates. You can read Sergio Ramos’ full statement here.
His place at the World Cup isn’t at risk, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen won’t be on Germany’s flight to a pre-World Cup training camp in Oman due to a gastrointestinal infection. You can read more about Ter Stegen’s issue and status here.
Antonio Rudiger is one of football’s good guys and he has demonstrated it once again, as he is donating all the money he expects to earn in this World Cup so that 11 children in Sierra Leone can be operated on and have a better and fairer life. You can read more about Rudiger’s kind gesture here.
According to L’Equipe, Marcus Thuram is a late call-up to the France squad, as he’ll be the 26th player selected by Didier Deschamps. Even though the squad was announced last week, this Monday was the final deadline.
Do you know the World Cup stadiums yet? If not, then check out this video that goes through the various venues one by one.
Let’s also take a fresh look at England’s 26 players for this World Cup.
Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale

Of course, we’ll have World Cup match live blogs too throughout the tournament, but this space is more of a hub for all things World Cup, rather than a place to focus on one specific game.
We’re less than one week away from the start of the World Cup, which gets up and running with Qatar vs Ecuador on Sunday November 20. It’s at at 17:00 CET, which is 16:00 GMT in the UK or 11:00 ET / 08:00 PT in the United States of America.
So fans around the globe are really starting to get that World Cup fever. Coaches and players are thinking about the tournament too, with most national teams getting together as of this Monday.
Some sides will play friendlies and others will focus on training, but we’ll bring you all the updates that are relevant so that you stay up to date with the main World Cup headlines.
