A hospital cleaner discovers patient files for a ward that does not exist.
The message
Abena, a night cleaner at a fictional district hospital, notices meal trays being delivered to a locked corridor. The hospital directory lists only six wards.
A troubling discovery
She asks a nurse, who says the corridor is for storage. Yet each morning she sees fresh bed sheets and prescription labels in the disposal bins. She records dates and raises the discrepancy with the administrator.
The trail
The administrator checks the inventory and discovers that several patient numbers belong to people discharged years ago. Abena is told to stop asking questions while an internal review begins.
The cliffhanger
Before the review team arrives, the corridor is emptied. One overlooked wristband bears Abena’s own name.
Previously unseen questions
Who is telling the truth? Which clue has been deliberately left behind? The next chapter follows the consequences of this discovery.
