PSG Crushes Inter Milan 5-0 to Win First-Ever Champions League Title

Paris Saint-Germain has finally captured the UEFA Champions League crown, defeating Inter Milan with a historic 5-0 victory in the final — the largest winning margin ever recorded in a Champions League final.

After years of lavish spending and marquee signings funded by Qatari ownership, PSG reached the summit of European football. This landmark win marks their first triumph in the continent’s most prestigious club competition.

Under the leadership of Spanish manager Luis Enrique, PSG shifted its focus from superstar-heavy squads to a more balanced and cohesive team approach — a philosophy that paid off handsomely in Munich.

Leading the charge was 19-year-old French sensation Désiré Doué. In a performance that signaled a new era for the club, Doué scored twice and provided an assist before leaving the field in the second half. His brace made him just the third teenager ever to score in a Champions League final, following in the footsteps of legends Patrick Kluivert and Carlos Alberto.

PSG’s dominance didn’t stop there. Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and substitute Senny Mayulu — another teenage talent — also found the back of the net, securing a record-breaking result in the competition’s 69-year history.

This emphatic win means PSG can now be recognized not just for its commercial power but for real success on the pitch. The club had long been seen as a glamorous outsider, consistently underachieving despite its resources. That reputation was shattered at Munich’s Allianz Arena, the very stadium where Bayern Munich — who defeated PSG in the 2020 final — usually reigns.

Unlike the pandemic-hit 2020 final, where empty stands greeted PSG’s loss in Lisbon, this time thousands of jubilant fans celebrated in full voice. PSG supporters filled the stadium with flares, flags, and deafening chants, outshining their Inter counterparts, many of whom exited before the final whistle.

Celebrations erupted when club captain Marquinhos lifted the trophy amid fireworks and golden confetti — a visual spectacle befitting a long-awaited moment of glory.

From kickoff, PSG looked sharp and composed. The breakthrough came just 12 minutes in, when Vitinha split the Inter defense with a pinpoint pass to Doué, who unselfishly set up Hakimi for an easy finish.

Though Hakimi opted not to celebrate against his former club, PSG fans exploded with joy. The lead was doubled just eight minutes later when Doué’s shot deflected off Federico Dimarco, wrong-footing goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

Doué bagged his second in the 63rd minute with a composed finish into the bottom corner. Kvaratskhelia struck a fourth in the 73rd minute before Mayulu, just two minutes after being subbed in, added a fifth to cap off the historic night.
